Las antologas contienen principalmente autores estadounidenses, pioneros y promotores de los estudios de polticas pblicas. En ellas se ofrecen ideas, mtodos, tcnicas, cuestionamientos y propuestas sobre cmo contribuir desde la administracin pblica, la accin ciudadana y la academia, a lo que llamamos con esperanza buen gobierno y convivencia civilizada. En la primera se refiere un panorama de la historia intelectual de las polticas pblicas hasta los debates an en curso; en la segunda los textos fundamentales que describen o prescriben estrategias de anlisis y de decisin de polticas; la tercera explica cmo los gobiernos forman su agenda, deciden qu es o no de inters pblico, definen los problemas a atender, construyen y ponderan opciones; la cuarta ofrece textos fundamentales que, como diagnsticos y modelos, ayudan al cultivo de una visin realista del alcance de las polticas, e introducen alternativas de organizacin, gestin y operacin. / The Anthologies are written mainly by American authors, pioneers and promoters of the study of public policies. They offer ideas, methods, techniques, questions and proposals about the contribution of the public administration, the citizens action and the academy, the so called hopefully a good government and civilized connivance. Acerca del autor (2009)

Barbara J. Nelson was professor of political science and co-director of the Center on Women and Public Policy at the University of Minnesota. Anthony Downs is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and has served as a consultant to many of the nation's largest corporations, major developers, and government agencies at all levels including the White House. He has a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University and is a widely published author.
