ARTICLE XIII 1

Section 3. Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the Un authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or reb not be questioned. But neither the United States no shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in a rection or rebellion against the United States, or any cl loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts. and claims shall be held illegal and void.

ARTICLE XVII 3

Section 1. The Senate of the United States sh two senators from each state, elected by the peop years; and each senator shall have one vote. T state shall have the qualifications requisite for el numerous branch of the state legislatures.
